Details
Originally from Sugar Hill, Georgia, Meg McRee moved to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University on a full academic scholarship. After earning her degree, she chose to pursue her unpredictable dream as a songwriter.
Since then, her musical prowess has earned her cuts with Elle King, Warren Zeiders, Ella Langley, Grace Potter, Colby Acuff, Paul Cauthen, Ashley Monroe, Shelby Lynne, Ben Chapman, Harper O’Neill, and more. McRee introduced her artistry with her debut record Is It Just Me?, finding success across Folk, Americana, and Country playlists, as well as airplay on SiriusXM The Highway.
She followed this up with the release of her live-to-tape History of Heartbreak EP, a collection of new songs about old feelings. Tracks “Wildflower” and “The Moon” featuring Hillary Lindsey and Lori McKenna were heavily highlighted across playlists, with the project scoring a spot on Spotify’s Nashville billboard upon release.
Notable milestones for McRee, include a standing ovation at her debut on the Grand Ole Opry stage in Nashville. She has also toured with acclaimed artists such as Lainey Wilson, Ashley McBryde, and Lukas Nelson.
McRee’s latest single, “Usually You,” showcases her songwriting prowess with a groovy, genre-blending sound and vivid imagery that transports listeners to Coastal California.
She may be playing the wonderful Bluebird Café in Nashville soon but for those of you who dream of being in that listening room, we have a slice of Nashville right here in York, waiting for you. Meg brings her bewitching presence and musical storytelling to FortyFive Vinyl Cafe.
Special Guest at this show is Californian singer-songwriter, Savvannah Gardner. An old soul with an exciting new sound, Savannah Gardner is rewriting the outlaw country genre. Her freewheeling, sometimes gritty, sometimes hauntingly beautiful songs speak to a new generation determined to stand up and be their authentic selves. Since arriving in London from her native California, Savannah has championed the growth of women in Country & Americana music.
She has co-written songs with Sharon Vaughn (Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Jimmy Buffet) and Martin Sutton (LeAnn Rimes, Celine Dion, Backstreet Boys) and her upcoming much-anticipated debut album on Heart and Gravel Records, Recovering Good Girl, is produced by Dale Davis, the legendary former bass player and musical director for Amy Winehouse
