Q: Where are you based?​

Our address is 29 Micklegate, York, YO1 6JH. You can find us at the bottom of Micklegate across the road from Nisbets Catering Supplies and Popworld nightclub.

Q: So, what exactly is a vinyl cafe?

Adding to York's unique shopping experience, FortyFive Vinyl Cafe is part cafe, part record store, part music venue and part bar. Our speciality grilled cheese sandwiches are famous across the city, our own brand coffee is delicious, our evening events are spectacular and our record collection is a big mix of everything from Abba to Zappa. We're sure you'll love it here as much as we do!

Q: Can I book a table?

Yes! Please head to fortyfiveuk.com/booking to fill in a table booking form.

Q: Do you have any jobs going?

Whenever we have jobs going we will advertise from our Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Q: Can I hire you for a private party?

Yes! We've had everything from art events, birthday parties and wedding parties here and at our very competitive rates for a city center venue, we'd love to see what we can do to assist your plans. Head to our Services page to download our private hire pack.

Q: I have some records to sell, will you take them?

Yes! We'd prefer to take larger collections (50+ records) rather than a handful or the odd one or two. For larger collections it might take a couple of weeks for us to have a good look through before making you an offer but we'd never put anything out for sale before you've received some money! Send Dom an email to dom@fortyfiveuk.com with a list or photos of what you have and he'll get back to you asap.

Q: I'm a musician, can I come play?

Yes! We have live music twice a month with every headline slot filmed and recorded for our YouTube channel which we've had running for 4 years. We are always on the look out for new talent to headline or support at each show so drop Dom and email to dom@fortyfiveuk.com and he'll get back to you with a proposed date or when something comes available.

Q: Who makes your videos?

Our resident videographer, Nathan Riley, films our live sets and all post-production, editing and sound is done by Dom White.

Q: I've got an album out, can I sell it there?

Yes! We have a small but growing collection of independent released records. Unfortunately we only take vinyl for the time being but will hopefully have space for CDs and tapes in the future!

Q: Tell me a random joke?

How do you turn a duck into a soul singer? ... Put it in the oven and wait till its' bill withers.

Q: How do I buy tickets to your events?

All tickets are only sold directly via our website and never anywhere else. Please head to fortyfiveuk.com/whatson and click on "Details & Tickets" on the event you'd like to buy tickets for.

Q: Can I play a DJ set there?

Unfortunately not. Historically we've not had great interest in DJ sets here at FortyFive as we're more of an acoustic-based venue. Dom and Dan do DJ on occasion though, check our Services page if you'd like to find out more about our DJ service.
 

Q: I'd like to make a complaint, who do I contact?
