Liam Cromby, known for his work as the lead singer and songwriter of We Are The Ocean until 2017, released his debut solo album What Can I Trust, If I Can’t Trust True Love, back in December, 2023 to great acclaim.
With early airplay from BBC Introducing and Absolute Radio Country among others, an appearance at The Great Escape festival and sold-out headline shows across the country, Cromby was invited to play at the prestigious Black Deer Festival of Americana, and along with a full-band set, joined Brandy Clark, Drake White, Elles Bailey and Bella White for a Songwriter Session.
Performing at this year's 7 hills songwriting festival, Americana UK stated "The revelation of this grouping was Liam Cromby. His emotive songs, many drawn from album ‘What Can I Trust, If I Can’t Trust True Love,’ including a great rendition of the title track. The former frontman of We Are The Ocean seems to have found a new direction, and one that on tonight’s showing will win him many new fans."
His lyrics, whether in the heavy, four-piece rock band setting of his former life, or in the more soulful, alt country acoustic-led songs of his solo work, he hopes to reach out and connect with as many people as he possibly can with his music.
